Distant Horizons & Minimalist Landscapes

These works explore the timelessness of dreams. Strong, vibrant colors invite the viewer to dive into the textures and feelings of the work.

Some, inspired by Mark Rothko, betray their simplicity with vibrant, layered detail. Others utilize an abstracted architectural representation of a home, to ground the work and create a more structured narrative for the viewer to explore their own experiences. These, heavily influenced by the gaelic word hiraeth (the longing for a home to which one can never return) and the finnish word hygge (the joy of entering a room to which you belong, surrounded by friends) plumb the depths of shared human experiences.
